In the quiet of the morning
In the quiet of the morning
, I start my coffee pot and sneak back to bed, while it brews. When the smells allures me out of bed, I turn on a small lamp and pour myself a cup, saving some for the long work day ahead. I grab the lighter and light the candles. I’m careful to do it in order - hope, then peace, then love - two purple candles, then the pink.
In the quiet of the morning, I look at the candles. I watch the way 3 tiny flames across the room give [barely] enough light to read.

In the quiet of the morning
...darkness gives way to light. The sun breaks the darkness of night. Morning - the period of time between midnight and noon, especially from sunrise to noon (source). Morning is the time from the sun’s lowest point to its highest.
And that’s where I am in life...in the morning.
Maybe, it’s where we all are in life.
In the morning the sun is shining - you see the hope of a new day. But the sun is yet in its highest position.
Maybe Advent is just that...the morning.
The season of anticipation of the Day to yet to come, but the Day that is here. The sun is rising and we see the hope of a New Day, but we are yet in our Highest Position.
I’m not a big fan of mornings. I need a lot of coffee and motivation. But there is just something about the quiet of the morning I just love. So let’s sit here with our coffee and rest right where we are...in the quiet of the morning.
Just a little note: Sorry for the lack of posts in 2019. 2019 brought some new life challenges my way, but also brought out a lot of new creativity in me. In 2020, I want to share some of this. I want to launch this blog as a platform for God to use these new found interests and vision. Thanks for being faithful readers and loving this blog, even as it changes.
